This Larimar is a rather special stone from the Dominican Republic. Its characteristic tropical lagoon blue is penetrated by red, green and brown dendrites. This pattern is displayed on both sides of this highly polished stone, which is impeccably cut and unusually has no internal fractures.

The delicate sterling silver Spiga chain pictured is 18” (45cm) long. Please let me know when your order if you would prefer an adjustable length chain instead (which allows for 16”/40cm, 18”/45cm and 20”/50cm lengths).

LARIMAR is a volcanic mineral, Pectolite, which gets its remarkable blue colour naturally from copper compounds forming in the lava flows. Occasionally, reddish brown dendrites, fernlike crystalline structures, penetrate the blue Larimar producing intricate patterns. In crystal meanings, Larimar is thought to have calming properties and aid communication. Its mainly found in the Dominican Republic (which accounts for its other moniker - the Atlantis Stone), so nice specimens like this one are becoming rarer and more valuable.
