Lavender Laguna Agate Pendant
Lavender Laguna Agate Pendant
Beautiful Lavender Laguna Agate pendant in an open-back sterling silver open setting.
This delicate agate droplet is full of character, with pink, purple, lavender and white banding, and translucent lace patterns. The stone is exceptional on both sides, so I chose an open setting to allow light through the bands. It comes from Laguna in Mexico. The cut and polish is excellent thanks to the wonderful US collector and gemstone cutter who offered this stone to me.
The delicate sterling silver chain is 20” (50cm) long and is adjustable to 16” (40cm) and 18” (45cm) lengths to give you maximum flexibility of wear. The agate droplet measures 15mm long by 9mm wide in its silver setting.
SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH 20% of profits from the sale of this piece of jewellery will be donated to mental health charities.
AGATE is a type of Chalcedony, part of the Quartz family. Its fabulous patterns come in every colour of the rainbow. Agate has been used in ornaments since the Neolithic times (around 12,000 ago). Ancient Greeks and Egyptians incorporated Agate into healing amulets - it is thought that the Greek philosopher Theophrastus gave Agate its name because he found the stone in the Achates River, in the present day Sicily, now called River Dirillo). In crystal meanings, Purple-toned Agate is linked to the Crown Chakra and thought to bring balance, calm and focus. Agate is a birthstone for the Zodiac sign of Gemini (22 May to 21 June).
